Infrastructure Specialist/Designer
About the job
We are seeking an experienced Telco cloud designer to lead the end-to-end design, delivery, automation, and lifecycle management of a Private Telco Cloud platform.
Key Responsibilities
Define technical evaluation criteria and support Proof of Concepts (PoCs).
Prepare and distribute technical documentation to internal and external stakeholders.
Integration points
Capacity planning and platform dimensioning
High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) design
Functional and Non-Functional Requirements (FR/NFR)
Design and implement the first tenant site, ensuring:
Complete, repeatable solution, Automation-first approach
End-to-end testing and validation, Support service transition into operations.
Provide ongoing support during production rollout.
Continue support for subsequent tenant onboarding.
Map business and regulatory requirements to the Private Cloud Telco deployment strategy.
Produce High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation across:
Production, Test and R&D environments
Plan and execute upgrades to maintain market-aligned private cloud versions.
Support change management in line with customer change control processes.
Deliver complete handover documentation to support teams.
Develop high-level architecture documentation, mapping compliance controls.
Identify architectural impact areas across virtualisation platforms.
Ensure adherence to security standards and governance requirements.
Support evidence gathering and mitigation deployment.
Raise and track risks until full remediation is achieved.
Architecture & Design
Deliver vendor-neutral architecture for Red Hat OpenShift in a Telco Cloud environment.
Define infrastructure topology, platform components, and network integration.
Design scalable, secure, and resilient deployments.
Migration & Transformation
Plan OpenShift migration: Dependency mapping, Downtime windows, Rollback strategies
Execute initial non-production cluster migration.
Establish OpenShift lifecycle management: Patching, Upgrades, Monitoring
Alerting, Automation frameworks, Load Balancer & Networking, Plan and execute migration from NSX to MetalLB.
Conduct CNI review and update blueprints.
Salary: £52k
